A Couple of Cards for Kids!

This week  Operation Write Home and Lawn Fawn teamed up to host some challenges to make cards for kids, so it was a great reason to get out my animal stamps and cute paper and create!

The first challenge was to make a card for a child with this sketch:

So I used the sketch as my starting point and stamped this little lion on different patterned paper and then paper pieced him back together:

kraft, stamped missing you card for kids, clouds, chevrons, Basic Grey, paper piecing

I like how the chevron paper could serve as “grass” too:)

For a second card, I started with the challenge to use scallops and made a little hippo card to say hello:

Scallops, Basic Grey Shine On 6x6 Paper, Autumn Leaves' Mindy's Zoo, kraft card

I don’t always round corners, but I used my corner punch on this card to add softness.

They will go into my stack of cards for Operation Write Home:)

Stamps: Lion and Hippo Clear Stamps (Mindy’s Zoo Set by Autumn Leaves)

Other: “Shine on . . .” 6×6 Patterned Paper Pad (Basic Grey), Paper for Lion’s Tummy (My Mind’s Eye – just Dreamy 2 by Christy Lyle & Zoe Pearn), Kraft cardstock, Traditional Scallop Edge Punch (Martha Stewart), Corner Punch, Tuxedo Black Ink (Memento), Vintage Sepia Archival Ink (Versafine)
